Happy World Book Day from BooksWagon UAE

Your Guide to Finding the Perfect Book for Every Reader

World Book Day is one of our favourite days of the year and not just because we’re booksellers. It’s the one day the whole world stops and celebrates something we believe in every single day: the magic of a great book.

At BooksWagon UAE, we’re proud to be part of that celebration with you.

Our Story Built on a Love of Books

BooksWagon didn’t start yesterday. With over 13 years of bookselling experience in around the world, we’ve spent more than a decade helping readers of all ages find stories that stayed with them long after the last page.

Three years ago, we brought that same passion to the UAE and what a journey it has been. From curious kids discovering their first chapter book to young adults losing themselves in a gripping fantasy series, we’ve had the joy of putting the right book in the right hands, every single day.

We know books. And more importantly, we know readers.

Why World Book Day Matters Especially for Young Readers

World Book Day is celebrated every year on April 23rd, and it exists for a beautiful reason: to remind us of all that books open doors. To other worlds, other lives, other ways of thinking.

For children, a great book can spark a love of reading that lasts a lifetime. For young adults, it can be the story that makes them feel truly seen for the first time. And for parents, choosing the right book for your child is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give.

Today is the perfect reminder to pick one up.

How to Find the Perfect Book by Age Group

Not sure where to start? Here’s our bookseller guide to finding the right read for every stage:

Little Ones & Kids (Ages 3–8)

Look for books with bold illustrations, simple language, and characters your child can root for. Repetition, rhythm, and humour work brilliantly at this age. Great books to explore picture books, early readers, and interactive story books that make reading feel like play.

Our tip: Let your child pick the cover they’re drawn to. Their instinct is usually right.

Children (Ages 8–12)

This is the golden age of reading kids this age can handle longer stories, richer characters, and bigger adventures. Series work especially well here because once they love a character, they’ll read every single book.

Our tip: If your child loved one book, ask us what to read next. We’ve been making these recommendations for 13 years we love this question.

Young Adults (Ages 12 and above)

Young adult fiction is some of the most powerful writing out there. From coming-of-age stories to fantasy epics to real-world drama there is something for every young reader. This is also the age where non-fiction starts to get exciting: biographies, self-improvement, science, and more.

Our tip: Don’t shy away from letting teens read “above their age.” If they’re ready, the right book will meet them there.

What’s Flying Off Our Shelves Right Now

At BooksWagon UAE, we stock all types of books across every genre fiction, non-fiction, children’s, educational, self-help, classics, business & finance and more. Our customers always surprise us with what they’re reaching for, and right now the energy around reading in the UAE is stronger than ever.

Whether you’re looking for a popular bestseller, a hidden gem, or a classic you’ve always meant to read we have it.

A Personal Note — From Us to You

We started BooksWagon because we believe books change lives. Not in a dramatic way but quietly, page by page. A child who reads becomes an adult who thinks. A young person who finds the right story at the right moment carries it with them forever.

That’s why we do this. That’s why, after 13 years, we’re still as excited about books as we were on day one.

On this World Book Day, we invite you to walk in, browse, ask us anything, and leave with a book that was made for you.
